After completing his Masters in Film and Communications at McGill University (Montreal, Canada), Sergio moved to Los Angeles to accept a post-graduate internship at Warner Bros. and to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.

He spent several years in the Literary Department at the legendary Creative Artists Agency, working with writer/directors like Clive Barker, Paul Verhoeven, Martin Scorsese, and Jonathan Demme.

During his tenure with Miramax Films/Sovereign Pictures, Sergio acquired such Academy-Award winning projects as "My Left Foot," "Cinema Paradiso," and "Reversal of Fortune." As a philanthropist and educator, Sergio has devoted much of his life to organizations like AIDS Project Los Angeles and The AIDS Committee of Toronto.
